Companionship Study Feb. 17th

Elder Gifford and I are enjoying study time with President Charles. We were preparing for a teaching opportunity that was to follow this study time. Don't you wonder what was said to make me smile??

Tuesday Feb.16th

Desiree and Nadine came to visit our Mission President & his wife for a few days. Desiree served as a missionary in the London South mission, and Nadine served in the Manchester Mission. They spoke to us about lessons they had learned from their missions.

Greek Coast Line

This week I got to go down to the south for the first time. We went down to meet this guy named Spyros who has been a long time friend of the missionaries. He also loves to feed them. He takes us to a little cafe on the water front and buys us a waffle with ice cream on it. (which is very delicious by the way) Then we have a lesson with him. He is about 80 years old and loves the missionaries but hasn't quite made up his mind about the church. He is an amazing guy. The trip to the south was really cool, it took about an hour to get there.

February 15th Καθαρη Δευτερα

Καθαρη Δευτερα (Clean Monday) is a public holiday in Greece and Cyprus. Eating meat, eggs and dairy products is traditionally forbidden. It is celebrated by having family picnics and the widespread flying of kites. We met with members on Philippapou Hill and enjoyed the festivities with all the other Athenians.

Out my backdoor

Always be careful when buying food from the lie-key. It is kind of like a farmers market. Mine just happens to be located just outside my back door, but this week I was hungry for some strawberries so I bought some. But when I went to eat them the next day they had started getting moldy! I was not happy, but I cleaned them off and cut off the mold and they were still delicious all 2 pounds of them. That place has tons of fresh produce every Tuesday just outside of my door. How lucky am I?
